That, naturally, means little to you. I am 64 years old and surviving on a small superannuation pension. For most of my working life I was a teacher and after fulltime teaching I spent some years trying to run a small business on my own which proved problematic. Having an interest in computers and information technology, the internet beckoned as a possible income source.
I am a good learner and observer and I have seen so many schemes and scams come and go that I have learned to exercise caution.
I have also seen the internet playing field change as more and more people try all manner of money making ideas and reinvent online forms of selling.
Yes there is money to be made in the right niche markets, but the big boys (and girls) dominate and without a lot of effort and outlay of money, it is difficult for the newcomer to get enough momentum to carry themselves through to success.
I continue to pursue my interest in selling products online, but I soon realised that this is not for everyone in my situation.
I became determined to find a way to make a decent living and then to pass on my experience to as many people as possible who may be in similar cirumstances to me.
If you are in similar straits with plenty of time on your hands and no cash, then you don't want to commit to expensive MLM schemes or join expensive programs that drain your wallet either. And judging from the track record of the average guy, it will end up costing more than you ever earn.
The one thing I had in abundance was spare time, so I did my best to make good use of it and have researched dozens of internet money programs.
All my surfing has also taught me that nobody ever made a dime in a free programme. Expecting to do so is defying logic. Even assuming you are able to get a bucket load of referrals, somebody, somewhere MUST make a purchase before you earn a commission.
SO what have we come up with?
I assembled all the necessary tools - Website Creator, Autoresponder, Squeeze Page Creator and Adtracker. All FREE!
But how am I going to make any money?
Good question. All the tools are free so there is no income there. Right? Well not strictly true since all the resources offer upgrade possibilities that might, one day, pay me a commission.
But I cannot sit around waiting for the slim chance that (a) I will actually get referrals to use the tools and (b) some of them might buy an upgrade.
So back I went to the internet to look for income generating program that answered the following main criteria.
1. Low start up cost and/or money-back guarantee within a reasonable space of time.
(Believe me! If it is free it is almost certainly designed to make a bunch of money for the creator and leave you considerably poorer).
2. Progress NOT dependent on bringing in referrals. I personally absolutely refuse to recommend anything that I have not tested and seen that it works. That means there is not a chance on earth I will bring in referrals until I know a program works, which means that, if success is dependent on getting referrals, I am doomed to failure before I start. Therefore I will not start.
3. Simple to manage or at least somebody available to tell you what to do next.
I found three which I detail in Step 6. Great! But I have no money!
My savings were virtually used up and my pension was JUST sufficient to keep a roof over my head and put food on the table. There is nothing to spare for schemes that did not work.
It was at this point that I realised that I was winning money on quite a number of Traffic Exchanges without realising that I had inadvertently entered a competition. So i started surf the TE's systematically and lo and behold I had found the final element to my programme.
So what's the result?
I started early in January 2011 and, using Traffic Exchange winnings, was able to fund my first income source. By 17 February I had again accumulated sufficient to fund my second income source. It is now 24 April 2011 and I have $980 invested (now growing at $19.60 per day) and $10 sitting on my Alertpay account waiting to add to my second income source.
